Biography:
Michael W. Pearson is an associate with the law firm of Cohen
Durrett. Mr. Pearson focuses his practice on business and commercial real estate transactions including business entity formation, corporate governance issues, selling and purchasing businesses and assets, commercial landlord tenant matters and partnership and business owner disputes. Mr. Pearson advises clients during all phases of the life cycle of a business from purchase and formation to dissolution, liquidation and sale. In addition to advising clients which business entity will best suit their specific needs, he assists clients with drafting and negotiating various commercial contracts, leases, purchase and sale agreements, and conducting corporate due diligence. Mr. Pearson represents clients in business and real estate litigation matters, including breach of contract claims, unlawful detainer actions, and partnership and corporate disputes. He also assists clients with general business tax advice, estate planning and administration.
Mr. Pearson was admitted to the Bar in 2003 after attending law school at U. C. Davis. He also attended University of the Pacific in Stockton, where he obtained an undergraduate degree in philosophy. Mr. Pearson was previously employed as an associate at the law firm of McDonough, Holland and Allen PC and Downey Brand, LLP, in Sacramento.
